Solve : Hard disk space to ram??

Answer»

i heard you can change hard DISK space to ram, anyone know if this is true, and if so how do i do it? :-?You can allocate space from your hard disk as virtual memory, which Windows will use as RAM, albeit much slower, if that's what you mean.
What OS are you using?
Windows automatically allocates a certain AMOUNT of space, this can be changed if you want.im using XP, but have about 256mb of ram or soGo to Control Panel --> System --> Advanced --> Settings (under Performance) --> Advanced -> Change.
You can change the size of the paging file (virtual memory) there.
I'd advise setting either the default of Windows managing it, or the initial and maximum sizes to the same value, maybe around 640Mb.
Virtual memory is not usually the answer to increasing performance dramatically if that's what you're asking.  I'd advise a RAM upgrade myself if you're after better performance, 256Mb is not ideal for XP.They are at initial size 390mb and maximum is 774mb, wich shall i change? If I were you I'd SET them both to 640Mb.
This prevents the paging file getting fragmented and can boost performance a little.ok THANKS mate! will do. and when i get some money together i will get a ram upgrade for sure. thanks for the helpOK, you're welcome.
Belated greetings and welcome to the forum, lol.
