Solve : hard drive sector editors?

Answer»

Anyone know where to GET an OPEN source disk editing utility, similar to Norton Disk Editor for DOS ?

I'm not having any PROBLEMS

I've been using Microsoft Disk Probe which is good and seems like a relatively simple program.  Just looking for bootable disc options..

Those aren't disk editors, they are partition tools.

LDE (LINUX Disk Editor) is something I have on my Mint Install just in case I need a disk editor.

edit:
also, supposedly the "ultimate Boot CD" has a disk editor:http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

for windows, you can use hxd; you can put it on a WinPE install or just install it portably on a flash drive.I've got the DOS version of Ultimate Boot CD...  That disc is loaded with stuff and I've only checked out a couple of items, I think..  I'll have to take another look at it.. thx for tip on that..
