But ,on my Pent D, the HWiNFO32. app.works just fine. These two PC's are APPROX. the same vintage, the TravelMate (XP) the Pent D (Vista). I'm thinking that HWiNFO requires more oomph than my TravelMate can provide. The only app. of this type (that I can find) that works on the TravelMate is Speccy. At least it gives me some sensor data. For some strange reason I can't get SpeedFan to run on the TravelMate? Anyway, I've been checking a few of these types of apps. on the Pent D and I wonder why they don't use the same terminology?. For example, 59° C is my CPU temp. HWiNFO calls it that, as does SpeedFan. SIW refers to the 59°C reading as Diode 1. Speccy shows Motherboard as 59° C. Mind you Speccy is quite basic. In any case, I'm finding that I quite like HWiNFO, because like C_C said it's accurate and complete. I just installed HWInfo32 on my HP Compaq d530 CMT and got a whole slew of info. This computer is Pentium IV, 2.66GHz. Back when I was running Windows 7 RC on this machine, I installed CPUID, which also worked well with it.
