while doing some troubleshooting steps for the printer, it said restart windows, i did that but when the computer restarted only the fan runs. i don't hear any of the NORMAL clicking, beeping, and associated noises. there is no display at all on the monitor. i have tried de-dusting, pulling cards and re-seating them all but no luck. what could this problem be? please advise. thanks.I'm am having a similar problem...I'm about to post. Might help to try some things I have... :-/Bump! Well I'm a newbie here and didn't want to start a new thread. Thus I will use this already created post. (since my pc's problem is similar to this!) I was sort of forced to put my pc in my basement Yes it is humid there. (I have since bought a dehumidifier) My pc will turn "on" as will all the fans. A few lights inside come on. That's it. My "off" button has no effect no matter how long I hold it. Things will shut off only by the power on/off SWITCH. I have cleaned/reseated vid card, ram, ect... I also get no "beeps" (I swapped keyboards) I KNOW one thing for sure, I'm not sure. Power supply? MB? This pc was built about 3 years ago and has an asus delux mb. Intel, ati vid card. I can give much more detail if anyone needs more. If someone has a great solution I'd be a very happy camper. I understand with these things more info/effort on my part will be required.
