hey guys i have a real PROBLEM. i have a gateway lap top. the other night i unplugged it and used the battery while watching a movie with my wife. the next day i went to plug it back in and i wont charge. the computer runs fine it just wont charge. any suggestions?Bad Battery

These come to mind for starters.ok thank you. i was TOLD to remove the battery and put it back in, but that didnt work either. it also wont work just plugged into the wall without the battery.When was the last time you used the battery? (For at least 5 minutes)

When was the last time you ran the battery calibration utility? (In the BIOS setup)Leave the battery out of the unit for about 4 hours...Plug it back in hook up the DC and let it sit untouched overnite.And how old is the battery?i had used the battery the night before to watch a movie. the battery is about 7 months old, but 90% of the time i use the computer while plugged into the wall.I had this same problem in my laptop, and it ended up being a bad solder joint in the AC jack... if none of the other suggestions work you would be best off getting it looked at... is it under warranty? good luck!
-JohnWhat model Gateway is this? Many of their laptop batteries have recently been recalled. If yours is ONE of them, you can try contacting them for a free replacement.
