Answer» Okay, i own a HP pavilion dv9702ea laptop.
Today (26/08/09) my screen messed up when i turned it on. Screen STARTED off black with coloured stripes, it then, from the top fades to white until the screen is white. Then when the screen is white it fades to black, again starting from the top. It has done this multiple times today.
The pointer doesnt SHOW and the only way to turn the computer off is to hold down the power button.
can anyone OFFER any help or advice as to what i should do
Your overheating big time. Make sure your laptop is on a flat, straight and hard surface.
You can buy a cooling mat as well which should help. I have recently dismantled my laptop because of overheating and the inside looked like a hoover bag. All cleaned out and my laptop now works perfectly fine.
If you are not comfortable dismantling your own laptop then you are best off seeking professional help to have them CLEAN it out.
