Solve : Help with detection.?

Answer»

What is the name of a programme that helps forums moderators DETECT posts?

Why I ask - is that someone posted a link in a gaming forum I use in my post ... that I did not do. No one has my password or I would of LOST high level account as well.

They only posted a link which is a forum "No no" ... They did not sabotage any pics or other content. As such I have been given a warning. I suspect ... it was a mod that posted it ... as they have access to change, edit etc ....

I contacted the head mod and asked them to check. Is there anyway ... mods can see who posted and what changes have been made and by whom? Can they see if someone else posted/changed my post?

Anyone know the programme or name that can check this ...Forum personnel can see the ip address of posters. Beyond that there is no special software other than what is built in to the forum software itself. The WHOIS can help localize ip addresses.Quote

That depends on the forum software.

I think VB has post revisions.Quote from: kpac on November 28, 2009, 04:40:36 PM

Nope! Nor does phpBB or MyBB.If it was edited by a moderator then at the bottom it should say 'edited by ?'Cheers ... I was hoping the higher up mods could see any history of mods that may have changed the content of my posts.

Silly I know. But it's a gaming forum ... I just happen to have one of the best presented clans on the forums. Still believe I GOT sabotaged by a "Moderator" whom are all other clan leaders.

@evilfantasy
Yep I see that ... but I didn't see who posted the link before hand. I signed in and I got a message saying I got a warning. So I didn't see who edited before that.

I see the current edit and the mods name ... But I did not see who edited my site before that. Post was changed by 2 mods. I only see the recent post made by the mod.

Moderators are usually pretty limited on what they can do without it being public knowledge. An administrator however has access to a bunch of tricks. Quote from: evilfantasy on November 28, 2009, 04:48:28 PM

That's defeatable in forum software options.@evilfantasy

The thing is> I BACK up everything I do. I reposted all to the head gaming mod. I copy and past everything I do and save to a word document under "Clan Backup Forum".

I copy and pasted link in chat window ... went to preview ... and found that I had no links at all directed to our clanchat forum. None.

Over a year as a clan leader ... and I can assure you I am very careful when it comes to links. I know it's a mod ... one that I have had issues with in the past before they became a mod.Not much we can do here except speculate. True .... thanks all for helping. I suspect I am about to get another warning anyway, so my clan is banned.

You have to question the logic as to why a moderator would want other clan leaders to help moderate a forum ... knowing THERES alot of clan sabotage going around. Thanks all for your help.
