Solve : Help with Emachines T3256?

Answer»

Ok I have a Emachines T3256 i just put a new power supply on and now it gets stuck at the E when trying to BOOT, any CLUE why? It has Windows XP home, you to run just fine, And after putting Power supply in it did run once but now it wont it just stays at the E on booting. Did you double check the connections on your motherboard, look closely and make sure the power connectors are pushed in all the way...

Could you please post the make/model of your new power supply...

It is Bestee ATX-300-12E Ordered from 911forpcs.com
What prompted you to GET another power supply? What problem were you having?I would have invested a few more bucks into a component as critical as a PSU...Quote from: patio on December 18, 2009, 08:31:37 AM

I was going to say that but I WANTED to make sure his motive for purchasing the psu was not related to a another possible issue, which a new psu wouldn't fixI got a new power supply because my old one was shot, Like i said Power serge screwed it up, But now I got past the E and officially getting stuck at the Windows XP load SCREEN, Any clue why there?Quote from: wowgamer on December 18, 2009, 05:10:05 PM
Like i said Power serge screwed it up,

No, I think you left that part out
The surge may have affected other parts of your computer, but before we conclude that, let see what else we have here..

Are you able to boot into Safe Mode? Restart the computer and tap the F8 button until you come to Advanced Options and select Safe Mode... Does it allow you to boot up?

Yes it does, I tried doing a restore but didnt work so now im on to trying windows repair with my cdBut if you have an easier way in mind with the safe boot please tell me as ill try what u think first. Before doing anything else, boot back into Safe Mode and back up all your important files to a thumb drive, or whatever floats your boat
Then we'll be safe to try more things..

But I don't see what a Repair Install would hurt at this point, go ahead..

If that doesn't work there's a few other things we can try
