Solve : hi all, HELP...PLEASE FOR GOODNESS SAKES SOMEONE HELP ME?

Answer»

two weeks ago my daughters PC started to bleep erratically, and progressively got worse. i went on to the internet to look this up and all signs led to it being a problem with the processor. i was repeatedly advised to reset the processor in order to fix it, and the method of resetting was a strange yet very easy one....simply remove the processor from the MB and then re bed it in its place and voila...done, except that now i cannot get the PC to do anything at all. the monitor will not come on and windows PX pro will not load up. i think i have wiped all of the information from the processor and now i do not know what to do, it is a x86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 10 Genuineintel~1002MHz made by Packard Bell and running XP Pro. My daughter is heart broken and i would truly be thankfull if anyone can help me, Please.......What should I do?
did you check to see if it went all the way back in? Making sure not to bend any pins and that the fan was opertaing properly.hi 2k_Dummy and Diablo416, yes, when i replaced the processor i was very careful indeed. and while i was at it i checked all of the other connections aswel such as the ram and the fans etc
I feel really thick, I should have known better...I am not microsoft, fancy me REMOVING the processor. WELL now the thing i have to do is make it work again. I have downloaded infinst_enu, which provides INTEL CHIPSET support for Windows Operating system from Intel, the thing is i dont know what to do with it as I dont have a floppy drive. all my daughter has is a cd reader and a dvd writer drive. I can get a floppy drive and install it later this evening but i cant get the operating system to load so how whould I use it??? also do i even need this program??? or is there a better way to fix the processor. To be honest guys I am at a loss and I have a terrible feeling that I will end up breaking my little girls heart again when I end up throwing it in the bin, I am a bit crap when it comes to pc's hence my user name. thanks in advance for any help you can offer.Quote from: the big oops himself on November 17, 2007, 03:07:37 PM

Before you act on this idea, let's see what others have to say here about it.
