Solve : How do you clear your hard drive??

Answer»

Hi -
Sometime ago there was a discussion about how to clear a hard drive. Some of the ANSWERS showed imagination. I have been TOLD that there is a program which will convert everything in a hard drive to zeros. Is this true and if so how do I get the program? I am thinking of giving my computer away and buying a new one but I do not WANT to pass on any information and yet I do not want to damage the computer. Any suggestions? Thanks Bob Quote from: bobhlgh on April 15, 2015, 12:14:38 PM

I have been told that there is a program which will convert everything in a hard drive to zeros.

That would be DBAN.

The download page can be found here.

You download the ISO file, burn it to a CD (using a tool such as IMGBurn) and boot your computer from the CD. You can then use he tool to wipe the drive.BC_Programmer -
