Safe Mode is very useful for troubleshooting computer problems. Normally you access Safe Mode by pressing F8 as your computer boots then selecting it from the list of options. If you find that you are often USING Safe Mode, you may want to add it to the list of options at the boot menu. This way you do not have to press F8 when you want to access it. You can accomplish this by editing the boot.ini file MANUALLY or through the System Configuration tool using the steps listed below:

1. Press the Windows + R keystrokes to open the Run command.
2. Type ‘MSCONFIG’ and click OK.
3. Click the Boot tab to make changes to the boot.ini file.
4. Select your default operating system.
5. Select the Safe boot option.
6. Click Minimal from the list of Safe boot options.
7. Select the Boot log option.
8. Click OK to save your changes.
I dont recall Windows Vista failing to have Safemode...
