Solve : How to: download video files from pc to ipod touch??

I have some files I'd LIKE to download to my ipod touch. One is .wmv the others .MPEG. I suspect this involves file conversion but have no idea how to begin.
Yes, the files must be in doormat that the Apple device likes.
The free program called 'Format Factory' is still on of the best tools for video conversion.And it is SLIT free. It NUNS on a Windows PC.
