Solve : I can't access a forum?

Answer»

No one else I know is having the problem.  I can't get on a phpbbtown forum.  It is my own site. I don't know what could be causing it.

Any help would appreciated.

Contact your web site host.Did you ban yourself ? ?

Seriously which forum ? ?I can't!  I can't open the phpbbtown forum at all, not even the host to ask question and get help.  It is just me as everyone else I have talked to can get on just fine.  It is just giving me the basic web page not found notice when I try and open it. No, I wasn't banned.  The page is just coming up not available.  I've checked my virus software, changed some things, cleaned out my files, cookies, and am getting nothing. Quote from: patio on December 05, 2007, 09:50:17 AM

www.phpbbtown.com/myforum/?mforum=allinthefamily

that is my forum.  I can't get on it or any other pbpbbtown forum either. What browser are you using? IE? Try Firefox, or vice versa.Loads fine on this END...just so you know.

The only thing i can think of is a restriction on your machine....firewall/inadvertant hosts entry etc.
Have you logged in from another machine to MAKE sure your user still exists ? ?

Also highly UNLIKELY but contact your ISP to see if it has been accidentally blocked on their end. Quote from: patio on December 05, 2007, 10:26:54 AM

that is what I'm thinking to,but I turned off my firewalls and still nothing.  I can log on from another machine just fine.  I don't think it could be my ISP.

I have internet explorer and firefox and I can't get on the forum with either.

GGRRR!  This is so frustrating. Quote

How do I check for that?Navigate to:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
You'll see hosts file there (no extension).
Open it in Notepad, and paste it back here. Quote from: Broni on December 05, 2007, 10:57:53 AM

I'm so computer illiterate.
No worries. This is what we're here for. To help.
Open Windows Explorer (go Start>Run, type in: explorer, hit Enter), and navigate to the folder, I told you.

Right click on hosts file, then Open with, and choose Notepad.
