Solve : installing windows 8 pro?

Answer»

can't get windows 8 disk to READ on my Lenovo ThinkCentre. The same exact disk drive and windows 8 disk were put in my hp desktop and read just fine like nothing was wrong... how do I get windows 8 disk to be read on the lenovoEither the DVD Rom on the computer is not set up as the first boot device in the bios boot ORDER or its DEFECTIVE. If defective, Get an external USB DVD drive and boot off of that. I have had to do this for my netbook that doesnt have a optical drive.Just doesn't work on the lenovo.... but I got it to load the setup on my hp, so I took the disk drive out of my hp and installed it in the lenovo thinking it would would work.... does not work... the lenovo does not like to install anything onto a HARD driveI'd perform a BIOS CMOS reset and then confirm that the DVD ROM is the first drive in the boot order. What exactly does it say on this Win8 DVD ? ?it's genuine as I bought it directly from Microsoft...

Ok will do that! You didn't answer the QUESTION...doesn't matter as pulling the CMOS battery looks like it did the trick
