Solve : Internet Explorer 8 Final Released?

Answer»

Version 8.00.6001.18702.RTW

They just had to add the .RTW to it. I'm not an MS basher but this seems like a silly little mind game.

(Release/Released To Web) A version of software that is ready to be sent, or has been sent, to a Web server for downloading by the public.

(Release/Released To Manufacturing) A version of software that is ready to send, or has been sent, to the CD/DVD manufacturer to press discs.

Why not just be clear and add Final? Quote from: evilfantasy on March 19, 2009, 11:32:07 AM

Why not just be clear and add Final?

Internet Explorer now supports DOWNLOAD of files whose size exceeds 4 gigabytes

I didn't know it didn't before, but then I would not be using IE for anything that big anyhow. In fact only keep IE for those web pages that Firefox can't cope with, and these have been getting fewer and fewer.I downloaded it.  I like FF better, but it is still pretty good.Well I think, it's nice to keep up with latest updates, in case you do need it. I know if you're going to be using some activeX on some website, you'll need internet explorer (the external app) and not any ie INTEGRATION program in FF like the ietab extensionI downloaded IE 8 yesterday to my Win XP system and installed it but removed it later.  It was sluggish, compared to IE 7.  IE 8 is not ready for prime time, in my opinion.in my test though, IE7 was sluggish compared to ie8 ODDLY. But it's a vista machine I'm running on so I don't know  Stay AWAY....stay very far away. Quote from: patio on APRIL 25, 2009, 12:37:01 PM
