Answer» HEY everyone I am new here, and I have a few questions about subnetworks and such, if you could help me, it would be greatly APPRECIATED! With an IP address of 129.5.5.7 say I want to create subnetworks with 1000 hosts per NETWORK using the above IP address. how many bits need borrowing? For the first 3 subnets what is the subnet number? what is the subnet mask? what is the broadcast address? what is the first usable host IP in the range? and what is the last usable host IP in the range? if any of you could help me out, it would be great thanks again! You'll need a good industrial router and associated switches/hubs for each subnet. Assume a 1000 (approximate) member LAN, you will need to assign four groups of 250-plus nodes 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.254 192.168.1.2 through 192.168.1.254 192.168.2.1 through 192.168.2.255 192.168.3.1 through 192.168.3.255 The excluded addresses in each range are for router gateway and ID/control service. Set the DHCP control on with the above RANGES ACTIVE or use specific DNS/IP assignments for each machine. Then you set the WAN end of the router for whatever address (129.5.5.7) you wish your LAN to present to the world. |
