Solve : Is Site Advisor getting bloated??

Answer»

New update today. v28.0 added this to my Firefox.

If you click on the "McAfee SiteAdvisor" button, and click "Disable Secure Search", it will shrink back to the normal width. The update makes my status bar taller either way though. Hopefully, McAfee will fix that in its next update.I got the Safe Search turned off but the new rating icon is still much larger. Not good!

I made a small complaint at the McAfee forums. I really wish the size of the RATINGS icon would have stayed the same.

http://community.mcafee.com/showthread.php?p=543284#post543284yeah that really got me mad today.I don't use site advisor. Noscript + modified HOSTS file + manual cookie selection means very few connections I do not WANT to make.I agree here, installed the update and I'm not impressed.
I've got the same setup as Raptor in terms on Noscript, HOSTS, manual cookies, figured Siteadvisor couldn't hurt and have been testing it for a few months.
It may be booted from my system fairly quickly. It puts 2 02 bho's, 1 018 protocol and 2 023 services entries in a HJT log.

Older Versions of SiteAdvisor at Download.com.

Quote from: Download.com
Download doesn't provide access to previous versions of this program.
The new version is v2.9. The page says McAfee SiteAdvisor for Internet Explorer 2.8.277, which is the previous version.I see what you mean now.
I assumed Download.com had the most recent version so I did not bother to check the version number.
Sorry.Yea but I believe that is for IE only. I haven't FOUND an older version for Firefox yet..I have no use for it...
Every time i check it out it lasts about 2 1/2 minutes on my machine...
It's kinda like having a Bar advisor saying " patio don't go into that one...it's dark and seedy and FILLED with cigar smoke"...
I USUALLY Enter.I agree, it's never actually "saved" me. But the site advisor reports are useful and having it in the toolbar makes looking them up so much easier.Download.com has an older version for Firefox also. They have 26.6 and I have 28.0. LinkThanks, passed that along at the McAfee forums and gave you credit http://community.mcafee.com/showthread.php?p=543445&posted=1#post543445
