Answer» When I plug a device into any 1 of the 4 USB ports, my laptop is not picking the device up at all. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 3610 & it's on Windows XP SP2. I have uninstall the USB Root Hub in Device Manager, downloaded Intel Chipset Driver from the Acer website but it is still not working. Is there anything else I can do? Right-click every device under the Universal Serial Bus controllers node, and then click Uninstall to remove them one at a time. 6. Restart the computer, and then reinstall the USB controllers. 7. hiya,

1) the machine is no longer under warranty
2) yes, the USB ports are all enabled
3) yes, all the ports used to work properly
4) it happen since about 3weeks ago when i put a usb wireless adapter into the usb port. i have to use a wireless adapter as the wireless untility on my machine was not working properly.

You COULD get a cheap PCMCIA USB 1.1 or 2.0 adapter if you really need USB and cant get it working for the integrated.hi, thanks for all your advise. i did a system restore and the usb ports are working now .
