Answer» I am just starting to LEARN Java for use in automating some CAD programs and am wondering where to get STARTED. Is there a particular SDK that would be useful with learning Java or some starter hints or tips that you can share? I have programming experience in VBA and C# but am not a programmer. Most of the code that I have written is fairly STRAIGHTFORWARD and has been used to automate either a control system or a program execution. Any help is greatly appreciated as I am trying to FIGURE out where to start. Thanks in advance for your help. SEBWell, in order to develop programs in Java, you will need the Java SDK. Click on the download button in the JDK 6 update 7 box.I like to use Jext http://www.jext.org to code my (rudimentary) Java programs. Check it out. It's a great editor for TONS of languages, the Hypertyper ADDON is great, too. Good for saving time. -rock
