Answer» When i boot up my computer, i get a memory read error and it will not go any further. Is my hard drive GONE or can i get PASSED this problem, and if not, can i save the DATA on my harddrive?EXACT error message, please. Windows version.The hard drive is probably fine. It's probably just a bad memory stick or the memory is not CORRECTLY seated in the motherboard. Boot from CD" it says "A Disk Read Error Occurred, Press Ctl+Alt+del to restart. im running Windows XP. I had some issues with a virus, and then adware attacked my computer, does that have something to do with it?during boot, does it beep, or do a combination of beeps? What kind of computer is it?
