Many users seem to find previous versions of Firefox slow to load compared with some other browsers. This partly depends on how many extensions you have enabled. You can even get a Firefox Preloader which runs at system STARTUP and loads certain parts of Firefox in memory so that the user has less time to wait when they first run the browser. Allegedly Firefox 3 is a big IMPROVEMENT in this area. Oh right, I thought you meant the browsing was 2 times faster. The time taken for Firefox load is indeed related to how many add-ons you have.
