I just buy a Nvidia GeForce 8800GT to upgrade my video card for gaming. To be compatible, I upgraded as well my power supply to 500w CAPACITY. Recently it will always freeze and most of the time a blue screen will display saying about dump memory, to update drivers and newly installed softwares to be uninstalled. Before freeze happened, i heard an unusual sound from the inside of my computer.. and oftentimes it will not detect the system hard disk and display a disk boot failure when I restart the machine.. Before I replaced my video card, I reformat my system drive for it to be clean. I have no idea what will I do. I already update the latest driver of the video card but not UPDATED the bios, since I read from other forums that there are risk on UPDATING the bios.

Any idea will be highly appreaciated.What brand of PSU is this ? ?S-TEK

Today's machines especially those USING high end gaming vid cards will simply not perform properly on $20.00 PSU's...
Visit a few of your gaming sites and or Tom's Hardware for some GOOD PSU recommendations...Thanks for d info sir.
I bought this at around $50 dollars (if converted), and i choose this even for the high price cause I want a good performance. Most of the psu available here are made in china.
Btw, my computer freezes even just few seconds after loading windows.
Im not playing games now because of this issue.
