Solve : Need detail about E-book reader?

I would like to buy a E-book READER. I think It will be supported for the following fascilities.

1. Book reading
2. Songs earing.
3. Files to be kept as backup
4. Photos can be viewed and stored.
5. Internet accessing.

For the above reasons i am PLANNING to buy this. Somebodies asked me to buy laptop instead of E-book. But i am not interested in Laptop right now.
Please tell me about E-book reader.

What are the uses of E-book reader?
How much its cost in India?
what are the problems will be coming with this?
Is it really useful in future?
What are the avilable brands in india?
