Solve : Need help hooking up headphones...........?

Answer»

I just PURCHASED a microphone headset, the guy said to plug them in the BACK of the computer. I have about six inputs back there, I see the symbol of a mic, but I don't know what the other symbols MEAN. I also have speakers on my desk, one SPEAKER has volume, bass, treble control, and two inputs, shows symbol of headphones and Aux. Can I just plug my two jacks into the inputs on the speakers? I also have a webcam with a mic in it, do i have to turn my webcam mic off while using these headphones? Not sure where to plug these two headphone jacks into, or what to do with the mic on my webcam. Can anyone help me? Thanks.... Your computer should have jack that has a symbol of the headphones (similar to that symbol on your speakers) on the back (probably on your sound card) . Plug in the headphones there. That's first.

One thing at a time, so see if your headphones is working first of all. Then we get to your webcam mic thing second. There is no input on the back that has a symbol of a headphone on it. All I can see is a microphone symbol, a circle with a dot in the middle, a circle with a vertical line through it, a circle with a horizontal line through it, a left and right speaker symbol, and one that looks like a snow flake. These head phones have two jacks on the end, not just one. I have a Dell Inspiron 530 if this helps. I'm trying to find the rear view of this computer on line so I can find out what the symbols mean. This is what the back of my pc looks like. The green input is being used by my external speakers. You have to click on the top left of the PICTURE to view "All Images"
