Hey ppl.i use nero burning rom version 8.1.1.4 to burn my cds. lately nothing has been succesfully burned after i reinstalled windows...i tried to burn music, i tried to copy a cd and even burn an image to a cd but all of them failed. i am giving the log of the process of burning the image to the cd-r:-

well, I'm not good reading at those logs but have you try with another burning software?like http://cdburnerxp.se/
but it's only for windows xp.Thanks for your reply but i have tried even slysoft's cdclone. so i think it might not be a problem with the software...nero's crap. i don't like using it coz it caused problems to me all the time. try other burning software like ulead burn which my school technician uses to make high quality DVDs http://www.tucows.com/preview/385592Hey...i jus tried windows media player n cdburner xp n ulead but nothing worked...i think its my drive malfunction .U see my drive is cd-r/rw and dvd-rom combo
it jus dosent write to discs but can read from cds n dvds ...Try another brand of blank media...borrow one from a friend instead of buying a stack of 100.
Use CDBurnerXP Pro.
Add all 3 types of media...some data, a song and some photos or a small vid clip.
Burn at the slowest speed and turn off as many background programs as you can.
If this fails then the burner is probably shot.
But don't feel bad this will be our 73rd Memorial Service this week alone for Hardware.
New DVD burners are down to about 40 bucks on newegg if your here in the States...
