Solve : new crash problems with fe analysis program.?

Answer»

Hi All, can anyone help me with this problem please?
I use a memory intensive programme for finite element analysis (Robobat). Recently it just keeps crashing when I MOVE the model around a bit. I have 3GB ram and an Nvidea graphics card. It's only recently happening. Can you advise why this might be please?
It seems to indicate a memory usage problem as when I do a ccleaner after some web activity it WORKS WELL for a bit, but then crashes again. It may be using paging memory but it was never a problem before.

ThanksWhat is your pagefile set at ? ?
How many other apps are running in the background when this happens ? ?
Have you tried closing all tray apps ? ?HI Thanks,
the page file is set at 3070MB. It recommends 4605 but I can't get it to stay at that.
I have 239661MB on the drive.
There are 46 other processes running according to the task manager but I don't know which of those I can dump really. Explorer takes 50056kb but I can't turn that off can I?
I switch off all other progs like thunderbird and firefox and fastcad etc.
I have switched off as many tray apps as I can, just keeping AV email protection and broadband connection.
The task manager says Commit Charge: 637M / 5980M , sounds good but I don't know what it means.
Thanks againEmail protection can safely be turned off...
Is FastCad disabled or off ? ?
That's also a memory intensive app...

DLoad and install StartupCPL by Mike LIN...
It will place a Startup icon in Control Panel and is an easy to use intuitive app for seeing what runs at startup...

You could also DLoad and install Process Explorer which will give you a better idea of what processes are running and what apps they may be associated with.

Both of these are free...
Let us know ...and Welcome Aboard !Hi Thanks for the info. and the welcome.
I'll give these a try and let you know.

I did try at one time a free thing that supposed to clear and reset the memory but I read that this sort of software is not real and makes the problem worse. I certainly didn't see any benefit.

Thanks, FredAny memory management apps can safely be ignored because they are PRETTY much garbage...

Another thing i thought of is check the free space on your HDD and report back with that...

Also regarding the pagefile set both the min and max to the same settings...
