Solve : New graphics card XP not booting?

Answer»

So I pretty much have a brand new rig

A64 2800+
GIGABYTE GA-K8VM800M
Maxtor sata 80 gig
WD IDE 40 gig(from old rig)
Logisys 500watt psu
52x CD-R CD-RW(from old rig)

I was running on onboard graphics waiting for my new ATI Radeon X850XT.

So my new card comes I UNINSTALL my onboard VGA run Tuneup Utilities registry cleaner.

Hook my new card up.

Boot up my system...Passes POST...Gets to Windows XP logo and freezes, Safe MODE freezes also.

I ASK a buddy to look at it an he says its probably a power issue. So I go out and buy a new Antec NeoHE 500watt PSU and hook it up. Sadly it fixed nothing!

It will boot up fine without the card plugged in so Im guessing I have a defective graphics card.

Any HELP is appreciate an thanks in advance!Go into your bios & disable the onboard graphics.automatically disables when I hook a agp card upTry booting with the onboard graphics, then remove the current vga driver entry from your Device Manager.
Select standard vga as your DISPLAY driver.
Switch off, fit the new card & boot up.
If it doesn't autodetect, then go to 'add new hardware'.
