| Answer» Microsoft has released a security patch for Windows Vista and XP. Last MONTH Microsoft made the decision to issue a "highly UNUSUAL" patch for Windows XP. Despite the fact the operating system has not been supported for some time, the patch was released in an attempt to thwart the WannaCrypt ransomware attacks. Thanks Microsoft! Here is a report that suggests the new updates are because of "government" sponsored cyber attacks on all Windows OS. http://www.outlookindia.com/newsscroll/microsoft-releases-new-updates-citing-elevated-cyber-attack-risk/1075161 Quote New York [U.S.A.], June 14 : In wake of the increasing risks of cyber attack across the globe, microsoft has released several critical security updates to provide protection against widespread hacking, citing an "elevated risk of cyber attacks." Here is most recent thing from CNN about the Microsoft updates. http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/13/technology/microsoft-cyber-attacks-windows-wannacry-updates/index.html Quote Tuesday's security update includes patches to its Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Server 2003 products, which are unsupported but still widely-used.
