Answer» I have always been an Android user. I need to buy an IPAD for my niece to use for school. Is there any certain version I need so I will be able to download the latest apps? It's not so much the latest apps as it is the latest OS, which enables a bunch of new FEATURES. Also, the speed of the newer iPads is significantly faster than older ones. I'd suggest just a basic iPad 9.7 inch 2017 version (referred to by Apple as just "iPad") if she doesn't need the higher end iPad models (pro, etc).
