This may seem like a crazy question, but....

My friend gave me a LAPTOP ( A "Thinkhead") It is old, obviously.
I have gotten on the craze of wiping clean the computers that are given to me, and making them a part of my network.

Well, this one has a phone jack for dial-up, but nothing that an Ethernet cable can plug into. Is there an adapter or some way that I can plug DSL into this antique?

Any help will be appreciated......Yeah, you just need Ethernet PCMCIA Laptop Card, like this:

It's just a GENERIC card that I can get at Best Buy??

Thanks so MUCH.....Yeah, you can get it almost anywhere. Just ASK for Laptop Ethernet Card.
I don't know how old your laptop is, so make sure, it has a slot for expansion card.
If you give me its brand, and model number, we can try to find out.A Twinhead laptop
Slimnote VX2
Model No:P88T
S/N H1206534
It does have that slot.

Also, I have a Windows XP disk that I want to install, but I cannot boot it from the drive to replace the old O/S...
Any ideas??
I'm new to a good majority of this stuff.... Quote
