Solve : No "Forum Issues" Board??

Answer»

Hi all,

where ought I post QUESTIONS about/ problems with using this overall forum itself?

Is there a board specifically dedicated to forum issues?

Thanks What problem are you having?Other is fine as it'll recieve the proper attention...again...what is the issue ? ?1.) The lack of any FAQ/ instructions INFORMING a (new) member of where to post forum-related issues makes it very frustrating as to determine exactly which board to use.

2.) I posted my forum issue in a later post since it's a SEPARATE "problem."

Thx!I think a lot of thought went into simplyfying our Forum section headers and should be self-explanatory...
That being stated i'll check out your other issue.Yes, I AM very grateful for all that's been done to maintain/ improve this forum - though this being my first day, I have no idea of what this forum used to look like or how much effort has been req'd.

However, it would be eliminate all confusion by both newbies and long-time members as to where to post forum-related issues if such a dedicated children board was created i.e., more user friendly.

In other words, using the Other --> Other children board - IMO - is not self-evident as to being the proper location for posting said issues.

Also, thanks for looking into my other post per confusing search engine behavior within this forum.

--Professional Computer Programmer/ Internet User for 15+ YearsHow many child boards with which headings would you suggest ? ?

Being here as long as i have what i am saying is it's kinda rare to have someone state they don't know which section to Post in...just sayin.Quote from: jbuckets4 on February 08, 2016, 11:32:59 AM

1.) The lack of any FAQ/ instructions informing a (new) member of where to post forum-related issues makes it very frustrating as to determine exactly which board to use.

When you have no posts, the forum displays a small popup at the top of the page which states "Welcome to the forum , if you need help posting, click here".

This takes you to How do I post my question?, which seems to answer the question you have. No, there currently isn't any FAQ, etc. indicating that forum-only issues ought be posted in the not-yet-created child board Other --> Forum Issues.

No, this particular topic isn't explicitly addressed by the FAQ How to Post.

I don't think that any other child boards per forum-only forum issues that would need to be created, do you?

Thx! As I stated before, how would one easily know that the child board Other --> Other is a valid place to post forum-only issues if that isn't explicitly stated anywhere? I.E., it's not self-evidently obvious.

And no, I have no way of ascertaining why such a child board being created was never before suggested. Has nobody ever posted a forum-only issue before now?

Just sayin'Oh I see, I misunderstood.

I would agree that perhaps that post could be updated to include that information about forum-specific and/or an additional section created to reflect forum issues, which seems to be common for other forums I visit. Even though I suspect as a source of feedback it might GO largely ignored (don't get me started...) it could be useful to at least provide explanations for why some things don't work (Like the forum search issue which I replied to in your other post, with which I share your annoyance, and have for the last few years). Thanks for replying that you finally understand my post. I wasn't SURE how else to re-state it otherwise. lol
