Solve : October Poll: How many different passwords do you have??

Answer»

I use KeePass password manager to keep track of 160+ web LOG ins.
Very few user names and passwords are repeated so there are maybe 150. KeePass has a built-in password generator, so it’s easy to make new ones.  I keep the database backed up. If I ever lose it I’m in big trouble. Now that's thinking safely Bromide. I think you're taking the award for having the most passwords. I don't think I've ever encountered someone with 150+ passwords.Doesn’t everyone accumulate login credentials over time? I’ve got several email accounts, 27 forums, 25 web sites that require user accounts plus all sorts of ONLINE vendors likes Amazon and NewEgg. They add up quickly.

I don’t know how anyone survives without a password manager app these days. Maybe I’m too paranoid.

LIKE you, I have accounts with well over a hundred websites requiring username and password.  It runs the gamut (forums, vendors, financial, etc.).

If you read my first post in this thread, it explains how I use an Access database for passwords.  But, I don't use nearly as many different passwords as you because I'm not using a software tool that generates passwords, as you are. For example, I use the same password on most forums.

Bromide, I think you're not being paranoid, you're just doing it better than most people.  You're using perhaps the best method by using a software tool designed specifically for password security.Just noticed this, KIND of odd how the forum's results are different from the main page...

Like they USED to say in Chicago, vote early and vote often.

lol Mayor DaleyI have 3 passwords but its a 10 character password composed of random letters and numbers.I used to have about 6 or more passwords, but today I'm going to all the websites I'm registered with and changing them all so I only have two.I think I have 6 passwords........but I just wish I could remember them as I get older
