Answer» I UNDERSTAND it might be way more than I would ever need but can I use a OL1000RTXL2U unit for just a single desktop/single monitor/stereo system/network? My tower is around 650W. I dont know how much my monitor/stereo/network takes up. I would like to be able to continue my work even after a power goes out. I dont WANT a UPS just to protect my ELECTRONICS but for it to prolong the amount of time I am given once there is an outage. You certainly can use it to power that but bear in mind that UPSs aren't designed to keep the HARDWARE up in the event of a prolonged outage, it's just there to give you time to save work and shut down equipment CLEANLY. You'd probably only get around 30mins of runtime from it when the UPS is in good health.
