Solve : P2P Trouble? |
|
Answer» I'll keep this short. the torrent says it will take 200 hours to finish. There were 32 seeders and a lot of them were DSL'ers. So yeah, I'd rather download faster than 5kbps. I'd rather download at 50 - 500kb/s than make USE of spyware ridden P2P programs. I downloaded a 2.2GB collection (complete) of a certain artist at 200-250KB/s. I'd like to see anyone get a collection like that on a P2P program. You probably firewalled Bit Torrent or the torrent just happened to be bad. Since you have broadband, are you connected through a router? Make certain that this router is forwarding the Limewire ports. I do not know what ports Limewire uses, but your ISP may be blocking them.Timus......... What I'm seeing tells me either you aren't connecting to the Limewire network ...or the people you are trying to D/L from are off- line........ If you look down at the lower left corner of the screen ...... what shows as your connection ? ........... Poor , Fair , GOOD , Excellant or Turbo ? Have you ever been able to get anything to D/L since you went on broadband ? Have you tried clicking on look for additional sources ? dl65 1. It GETS up tofive green rectangles...I'd say it's great. 2.Yes, but usually only from peoples FTP's and stuff like that. 3...Yes... Timus........ What version of Limewire are you using ? I'm using limewire V4.9.3 ...... no problems ...... I just did a search in limewire for ....... one that you were trying ....... Swift 3d for Flash.zip ......got 288 locations .......... I think the one that you chose with 0.0kb .......is corrupt ........ chose one of the others which shows 851.7 kb ....LOL ( be careful because some of these program files contain trojans or viruses ) Make sure your anti virus is upto date and working . let us know..... dl65 I am actually only using that as an exmaple, I searched the first thing that popped into my mind (Flash) and searched it and clicked download on all. It does this to ALL downloads I TRY 'Need more sources' so It's definetly a fault with my router or connection. I was aware it was 0.0kbs, but I was also aware I wouldn't be able to download it. Yes, I am using the latest version of LimeWire, I downloaded it several hours before making this topic, and it hasn't asked me to update since. Any more solutions? Forward your ports...Sorry to act like a moron. But how? Quote Sorry to act like a moron. I doubt anyone thought that way. Somehow, people seem to be fond of humiliating theirselves. You should REFER to your router manual, the way to do so differs heavily per brand.Oh well, I guess I'll get my router manual then. Thanks for all your help. |
