i don't know much about computers, but i took my comp in for repair. to re-install windows95. my son had already partioned my COMPUTER for safety REASONS, but the store i took it to lost d drive and all saved material on it. they SAID this was unavoidable. i disagree. am i right.I find it hard to believe that it was unnavoidable, however the sad fact is that they are propbably not liable for any loss of data.if you think the store is not liable for lost data, wouldn't you think they would have BACKED up all info on drives as a safety precaution. if they did this, then it would have been unavoidable.maybe the solution is always back up your data to a spare hard-drive or DISKS.
