Solve : PC Performance?

Answer»

Is there any other way to BOOST your computer's performance?  I'm running XP.  I already did the following to my computer:

^Disk Defragmenter
^Disk Cleanup
^Cleaned out the dust in my PC

Any tips or tricks you cold recommend?  My computer is a little slow.

add more ram or reformatPlease, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", RIGHT click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")
^Dell Dimension 3000
^Intel Pentium 4 Processor
^2.80 gHz
^512mb of ram
^XP Home Edition
Adding more RAM is the best and cheapest way to increase performanceYeah, i think XP should have at least 1 GB of RAM for OPTIMAL performance, but if you don't want to PAY outrageous prices for RAM, there are other things to try, like defragmentation (defragging) and clearing the cache and temp files. outrageous prices for RAM
RAM prices are at the lowest level ever.
Another 512MB of RAM will definitely help.Well, i think the prices are outrageous, but thats because i have to buy DDR Ram.
not DDR 2 not DDR 3 but DDR RAMI recently bought a 1 GB stick from Crucial for $43 and Newegg has some for even less money.  In the past I've paid a whole lot more for a whole lot less.and I meant to add it was DDR
