Answer» i am getting a new puter so i will need to transfer data from the OLD puter. i have no idea how to do this! Dell offers help with this but it will not WORK because i have a dial-up modem. i do have Carbonite, a back-up service.
can anyone advise me?
THANKS, catsupThere are LOTS of ways...... You can hook up the drive from the old computer to the new computer as a slave....Or you could network the two computers and transfer the FILES through that....The first option is probably the best way.thanks for the reply.

MBoard Slave Master
The jumper settings are on the rear of the drive between the IDE and power connectors. There's a diagram on each drive to set them. The drive you are copying should be the slave.
