Answer» i am getting a new puter so i will need to transfer data from the OLD puter. i have no idea how to do this! Dell offers help with this but it will not WORK because i have a dial-up modem. i do have Carbonite, a back-up service. can anyone advise me? THANKS, catsupThere are LOTS of ways...... You can hook up the drive from the old computer to the new computer as a slave....Or you could network the two computers and transfer the FILES through that....The first option is probably the best way.thanks for the reply. now how do i hook up one drive to the other? lol catsupII=======================II==========II MBoard Slave Master The jumper settings are on the rear of the drive between the IDE and power connectors. There's a diagram on each drive to set them. The drive you are copying should be the slave.
