any suggestions will be greatly accepted!
dlxWhy would you study the MCSE? MCSE(in windows XP only) IMO Microsoft is making things difficult by changing name of the OS ever six years. For some of us, it can take years to become familiar with an specific system. Many of us ordinary people were frustrated when MS announced that NT 4 wkould no longer be part of the test for MS certification. We just do not have the personal resources to dedicate all of our study time to just one area of computer sills and have it jerked out from use in a few years.
True, they change the names for market reasons. But it does not look good on your Résumé when you apply for a job. The personal pope are looking for those who have the new skills.
By far, network skills are going to be in need for some time. EVEN with the advances in new hardware and software, the basic concepts are still valid. IMP, you would do well to invest your time and money in learning as much as you can about networks. MSCE is kind of outdated now, don't you think? Try going for an MCTS in Vista or Windows 7. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcts.aspx If it must be in Windows XP, check out the MCDST. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/mcdst.aspx If it has to be Network+ or MCSE, go for the Network+. At least that will be useful in 5-10 years, whereas Windows XP is already on its way out.
The thing that will help you get a job is experience and social networking more than a certification. If you don't have the experience yet, take the manager out to lunch from the place you want to work. thanks to Geek-9pm and michaewlewis for their advices.
