On the page referred, this is the header line ;
* Event ID 256 is logged in the system event log after you install the MS04-011 security update on a Windows 2000-based computer *
My system has the symptoms but I did not find the security update in A/R ?
Is it possible I have the symptoms of EID 256, without the MS04-011 UD ? I assume my, OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service PACK 1 128 MB of RAM Presently ordering an MS SP2 DISK for installation.
Excerpt from referred MS page;
