can someone HELP ME PLEASE. My dvd drive will not reconize when there is a disk inserted.I've tried several diffent types of disk.It will reconize some and not others,

What type of DVDs are you trying to use?What dvd software is used.....it maybe REGION locked>?there arenoregional problems with the disks that I try to use.The drive will acknowklege some times and not other times.Even if I tryafter it has reconized one disk of the same kind,when I try again it shows that there is no disk in the drive bay.mac7........ Will this drive read a cd ?
What is the make and model of the dvd drive and what type of disks is it supposed to read ?
Has it ever worked properly ?

Yes the drive has worked,yes it will read cd.It is a super multi dvd drive model gsa-4081b.On the front of the drive it has dvd+rewriteable,dvd multi recorder,lg.I hope that this helps,I really thank you for help in this matter,Marvin,please alert me at [email protected],again thank you for your help.ps. it is from hp.What programs used for dvd!........are these copies!i don't UNDERSTAND that question.Do you mean like roxio,or power dvd xp? They are from the orignal disks that came with a cd-dvd rom drive.The promblem is in the drive, It wont read any disk all the time.sometimes it will read a disk and then when I try again the next second, it wont read any kind of disk,Do you understaand me now.  thank you for helping me marvinYou should return it, if it is still under warranty.

If it is not, test it in another computer.thanks for all the help,I'll find out if the drive is ok.
