Answer» I'm only 14 years OLD and everyone in my family is to lazy to figure out whats wrong with our computer accept me. So I came upon this wonderful site
Anyway heres our problem... We have an HP Pavalion, its new. It was working fine the first few months we got it. But one day it just randomly decided not to let us access our USER accounts Meaning no one can use the computer.
When I tryed to log onto my user account, I typed in my password and it said "Loading Settings" Which it normally does... But then it said "Logging off" and it logged off before I even had time to use my account.. This happens every time. With mine, my sister's and my mom's accounts.
If someone could give me some FREE advice on this that would be super. Cuz my mom refuses to waste more money on this computer. I am writing this from my lap top which is really annoying and I miss my regular computer I would greatly appriciate any HELP. brandnewx3234534534523......So no one can use that pc ......It's possible there may be a virus which is preventing access.......can you boot it up in the safe mode ? Whats the waranty like is it still covered ?
let us know dl65 It should be under waranty SINCE you said it's new. Call HP or your supplier and talk to them.EXACTLY the same thing happened to my computer, also an XP. I have no idea what to do.. it's very frustrating. And, it started yesterday, the 12th. If you figure it out, please tell me!Arg, I meant to say that I also have an HP Pavilion using XP.Linn S......by any chance ...did you download any updates on the 11th or 12th?
let us know
dl65 I'm not the only one that uses that computer so I'm not sure if any updates were downloaded or not. I didn't download any, though.reboot pc and hit the f8 key by keep tapping it a msdos screen will appear scroll down using the arrow keys and chose the last good config and re-boot...if this does not work come BACK...and could it be this>http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;330136&Product=winxpI have tried using the last good configuration but it does not work ... And I did not receive "a message indicating that the grace period has expired and that you must activate Windows XP now." Not only that, we don't have the CD; XP was included with the computer.Return it to the point of sales and show them your receipt in order to obtain warranty you paid for.
