Answer»

I have a 1.8 tb portable drive that I want to play on my set top BOX but will not recognise movies in either ntfs or FAT32 but my 500gb ntfs works fine. is there anyway to make my set top box read from 1.8tb portable drive. e.g. partitions or something like thatQuote

Doesnt, but Does?

I have a bluray PLAYER that can play movies through a portable drive, BUT unfortunately it only supports FAT32 and so I am stick with a maximum of 32GB.

One way around the limitation I had with the 32GB was to turn my one computer into a media server and with the service broadcasting on my local LAN, I then am able to navigate to this service and then navigate through the menu system as PART of this service running on my computer which has more than 32GB of data to view and its in NTFS with no problems. *The only problem I ran into with this is that not all video formats were supported through the media server to my bluray.

This is the software that works perfect with my setup.

http://www.wildmediaserver.com/will revert to ntfs I guess it is a software issue with the set top box as it cant read LARGE external drives. up to 500gig okay but above that not able to read it.

thanks
