Solve : reboot and select proper boot device, insert boot media in selected boot device??

Answer»

i am a confused little monkey at this point. ive just put my first build together and when i start it up it goes in to BIOS but INSTEAD of getting the menu options that i have been led to BELIEVE i am supposed to have i get the error message, "REBOOT and select proper boot device, insert boot MEDIA in selected boot device and press a key". so i rebooted inserted my mother board support disc and the same thing happend, i unplugged my other disc drive and made shore that the one that was still plugged in was the master and i still got the same unresponsive message. anyone have any ideas? How are you going into the BIOS?

You need to tap the access key repeatedly as soon as you turn on the computer.bios just starts up seeing as i have no OS.

and ive just started it while rapidly pressing Ctrl while it checks system components and it just does the same thingTry with the del key or F2.  The ctrl key is PROBABLY not the one you need.

Computers don't automatically go into the BIOS if there is no OS.ok so i did it with the delete key and it took me to a blue screen entitled CMOS setup utility witch i read is similar to BIOS am i in the right place? if so how do i get it to run my mother board support disc?Yes, you are in the right place.

Make sure that the HDD is the primary boot device.
Make your optical drive the second boot device.

Then save your settings and exit.

You will need to install your OS before you can install the MB Chipset Drivers.allright thanks very much  Let us know how it works out.You are still gonna have to put an OS on your hard disk. You will need to boot to the CD drive in order to install one.
