Solve : Rebooting my system?

When I reboot my system.. my hard drive is STILL spinning, reading, stuff for a very, very long time.. Perfect example.. I REBOOTED at 4;30 pm today, and now at 8:10 pm.. the hard drive is STILL running like it is trying to load something and makes everything else run SLOW... anything I can do for this....

Any my virus scan, AVG, also takes 4-5, even MORE, HOURS to complete... HELP.. I was thinking of wiping the HD CLEAN and starting again....WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM AND WHY ARE YOU REBOOTING?I have a AMD 2600 with a gig of RAM... You still need to check on that capslock.virii.exe...Check on what?? YOu LOST meThat's better...
