Solve : replace RAID 0 drives and keep data from old drives?

Answer»

I have two Hd DRIVES 150GB (NTFS) configured in RAID 0. I am nearing the full point on them and want to replace them with new larger capacity drives. They are SATA driven, Pentium 4 extreme ed. 3.2ghz, 800 FSB machine.
Is there any way to MOVE the OS and all programs and data to the larger new (NTFS) SATA drives without having to reinstall OS and programs?

Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery can create an image of you machine and then restore it to either your current pc or another one with different hardware. I use it at work and am getting ready to buy 50 more licenses. It's the best system recovery software I've seen.Where would Symantec place the images if he is almost out of space on his RAID array ? ?
I know that Acronis NEEDS another partition/drive to do this but i'm unfamiliar with how Symantec would handle this in a RAID setup...Quote from: patio on January 28, 2008, 01:32:55 PM

Put the image onto the new drives, then format the old ones and copy the image over to one of those.
Then set up the new drives in whatever configuration you see best and then put the image onto them.
You didn't answer my question...I think michaewlewis may have been suggesting that the new drives could be connected at the same time as the existing drives. The OP didn't say how many SATA connections were available though.

Symantec will put the images wherever you tell it to, just like Acronis.
