I'm LOOKING at purchaseing a small laptop so I can carry whilst traveling, something like HP Mini 100
So what I'm after is a way to run software from a thumb drive or external hard drive so I don't have to LOAD large software onto the laptop.
Can this be done
ThanksYou shouldent run programs from a FLASH drive, flash drives arent fast enough to do this efficiently.
If your mini-laptop is running Linux or Windows, you should be ABLE to use an external CD drive, if it DOESNT already come with one.

Or, you can copy the contents of a CD from "My Computer" and then copy them to a folder on the thumb drive, and use the installer that you copied to install the programs you with to use. Lots of stuff specifically for a thumb drive at www.portableapps.com
You can substitute pretty much everything but Windows with a portable version.
