Solve : Spam Problem?

Answer»

My spam mail is growing at an uncontrollable rate. When I have real emails it seems to slow down the sending and receiving and sometimes blocks it altogether. Even though I click on them and choose to "unsubscribe" I still get tons of that crap. Am I worsening the problem by clicking on them?hankfarkas...

Never click "unsubscribe" from within junk e-mail. If you do...you're basically telling the sender that they have found a valid e-mail address and will sell your e-mail adress to other companies that will spam you.

That's why your junk e-mail is out of control.

You may want to change your e-mail address.Quote from: hankfarkas on March 13, 2009, 01:21:46 PM

Further, I like and use Thunderbird - the free email client.

It has a junk filter that you train yourself, SIMPLY by USING it.
This won't stop the spam mail from arriving, but it helps MAKE it more manageable.

To try and block the spam, see if the domain names of the email addresses are similar. If they are, just add them to your email service's blacklist.
