I want to summarize thousands of names in a column in excel in another column without frequencies that MEANS to get rid of repetitions.
for example in A1 : A1343 I have
Alex
Alex
Alex
Roger
Alex
Ulrich
Ulrich
Tom
Ulrich
Alex
....
.....
and I want:
Alex
Roger
Tom
Ulrich
in B1 to B4.
Please help. This is how I would do it in Excel 2003
1. Click on the header for column A
2. In the menu click DATA, then Advanced Filter
3. Make sure your data range is correct.
3. Choose Action, Copy to another location, TYPE destination e.g. B1 in the BOX
4. Check Unique records only
5. Click OK
