Answer» My mom's television is at LEAST thirty years old. It is finally SHOWING signs that it may not want to stick around for the digital conversion in 2009. (She's a cable subscriber, so the conversion is not an issue for her.) I'm trying to get her to go with an LCD flatscreen. She is convinced it won't last NEARLY as long as a cathode RAY tube television. I've tried to tell her that both LCD and plasma are greatly improved in the last few years. Any recommendations, thoughts, and your experiences are greatly appreciated. Thanks!I just heard the other day that LCDs don't last as long as CRTs, too. I heard they only last 5-6 years....
