Solve : temp internet files?

Answer»

Unfortunately, I'm not too computer literate. I just recently noticed that temp internet files are not showing up in that folder. I've done plenty of browsing, but nothing has registered. The 'check for newer versions of STORED pages is on automatic, history is set for 5 days(if that even matters), nothing is automatically deleted when closing Mozilla. A setting must have gotten changed or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!Quote

Exactly which folder is that folder? If you are referring to temporary internet files that is a subfolder of windows, Mozilla does not use it. It is IE specific.Yes, it is a sub folder. They were showing up before. I would go to control panel, CLICK folder options, and click "show hidden files and folders." I would then go to my computer, click "c" hard drive, click documents and settings, user, local settings, then temp internet files. Every day, they would show up, and now nothing. Occasionally they would show up just for the start-up yahoo page when I open the internet. But again, I was able to track everything just a few days ago. I'm having some issues with my son and think that maybe he did something to the computer. If I am wrong about something, then ok. Basically, I need to know how I can track or find the temp internet files in my computer-Mozilla is being used. Pleeeeez help!!! The temporary internet files folder is IE specific. Mozilla does not use it. The reason you could see your startup yahoo page is because yahoo is BASED on IE. Once yahoo is started you are using Mozilla so nothing else is written to the folder unless a function in yahoo requires its IE base. The files in this folder are easily deleted, which is probably what your son is doing, so now you don't see your yahoo startup. Even if he did not delete them, there would be nothing in the folder to allow you to track his activity. If he hasn't deleted Mozilla's history you MIGHT find something there.Ok...since I'm using Mozilla, is there ANYWHERE in my computer(cookies, etc.) that would allow me to see where he's been? Using Mozilla surely can't block all activity, could it?This addon will let you view the content of Firefox's cache. (temporary internet files)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2489

Install it, restart Firefox and select CacheViewer from the Tools menu.

How to view the cookies currently stored:
Select Tools
Select Options
Select Privacy and press the "Show Cookies..." button.

Note though, both the cookies and the cache can have been cleared by a user and Firefox also deletes old cache and cookies after a specified time period. In that case there isn't much to do.Yay!! It worked....thank you so much for the help...much appreciated!! shouldn;t i be able to open my internet files and see the page ps i have like 5 temp files think my honey up to something FUNNY we have to pcs
